Dispute Resolution and Law Practice

Karen uses a practical, results-oriented approach. She has run her own businesses and understands that issues may be quite complex and that approaches may vary widely. Creative thinking is among her skills.

Importantly, Karen has considerable experience on both sides of the docket (plaintiff and defendant) in federal, state and county courts. She has had cases in the U.S. Supreme Court, 5th Circuit Court of Appeals, all U.S. Districts in Texas, and all levels of Texas state and county courts at law.

Karen’s civil practice subject matter experience is broad. Special areas of interest/experience include:

  • Employment related issues: Non-competition agreements, Employment separation, Discrimination and retaliation, FMLA, FLSA, Workers Comp retaliation, and other employment-related claims
  • Business and commercial concerns: Contracts, Business dissolution, Business owner actions, Fiduciary claims, Fraud or misrepresentation, Construction issues, and more.
  • Probate Court matters: Wills, heirship, and guardianships.

Language proficiency:  Spanish - reading, writing, and conversation.
